whynow Wins Small Digital Publisher Of The Year At AOP Awards

We’re delighted to announce that whynow Media has been crowned Small Digital Publisher of the Year at the AOP Awards 2025. 

Now in their 23rd year, the awards celebrate the individuals, teams and companies driving the growth and innovation of the digital publishing sector. 

whynow launched in 2019 as an online magazine; since then it’s moved into TV production, music merchandising, acquired the YouTube channel Great Big Story and launched an events division. 

Each category at the awards was judged by a panel of digital industry experts under the guidance of co-chairs Katie Le Ruez, former Director of Digital at Guardian News & Media, and Thomas Lake, Product & Technology Director at Infopro Digital.

whynow Media was described by the judges as being, “a true small digital publisher with content across multiple platforms, and impressive audience numbers.” 

There were 27 category winners that were announced at the AOPs flagship event at Old Billingsgate in London on Wednesday 11th June.
