The Club That George Built shortlisted at the Global Production Awards 2025

Whynow Studios and Warner Bros. Discovery's feature-length documentary film, The Club That George Built, has been nominated for a Global Production Award in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category.

The Global Production Awards are unique in that they put the spotlight on the incredible production and location work required to get great films and TV shows to the screen. At the core of the awards are great initiatives, projects and work that are setting the highest standards in sustainability, diversity and ensuring local economies benefit from the productions taking place in their markets.

The 70-minute film centers around the 23/24 season of Worthing FC and the owner George Dowell who was paralysed from the waist down in a car crash. It was first shown on TNT Sports in October 2024, and can still be viewed on their streaming platform Discovery+ here: discoveryplus.com/gb/show/the-club-that-george-built

The ceremony will be taking place on the 19th May in Cannes, France. The full shortlist can be found at: globalproductionawards.com/shortlist-2025
