Rock Sound Brings Together 14 Artists To Record Twenty One Pilots Tribute ‘Blurryface Reborn’ Celebrating 10 Years Since The Original Album’s Release

To mark 10 years since the release of the Twenty One Pilots album ‘Blurryface’, Rock Sound magazine has assembled 14 bands to record their own versions of their favourite tracks to create ‘Blurryface Reborn’. Artists featured on the compilation include Awolnation, James Marriott, NOAHFINNCE, Royal & The Serpent, YONAKA and Bambie Thug.

The new album is available on a CD that comes alongside the latest issue of Rock Sound magazine, and will be the only place fans can hear all of the tracks. Also featured in the issue is an exclusive interview with Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, alongside a never before seen collection of photos from the band’s archive. 

The magazine and album are available to preorder now at SHOP.ROCKSOUND.TV. Additionally, for the first time ever, physical copies of the magazine and the CD will be available to buy in select Hot Topic stores across the US. 

James Wilson-Taylor, Creative Director of Rock Sound said: “Twenty One Pilots have been a huge part of Rock Sound over the past decade and beyond so it has been a real delight to put together this special project, uniting artists who have been inspired by Tyler and Josh’s genre-bending songwriting, open-hearted lyrics and intricate storytelling”.

In the new interview, Josh Dun comments “You’ve got to be such an established band and be around for a long time, making an impact, to have a tribute album done. I don't think it ever crossed either of our minds that we would ever be in that place or that point in our career. So that's wild.” 

Tyler Joseph adds “As we continue to do this thing, we realize how hard it is. So anytime that our peers, other artists, or other bands co-sign something that we've done, it means that much more to us the longer we do this.”

Released in May 2015, ‘Blurryface’ includes the hits ‘Stressed Out’ and ‘Ride’,  reaching the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart. It has since been certified 6x Platinum in the US.
